Raise your own macaw in The Birders
In The Birders, everything starts at home with an egg. Inside is your macaw, the parrot you'll be looking after: you watch him hatch, feed him, wash him and teach him to talk. Whenever you like, you head out to the parks to photograph birds, and when you get back he's there waiting for you. It's a bit like having a Tamagotchi, but your macaw's needs change as he grows, just like a real chick's.

Blue-and-yellow, scarlet or severe
At the start you choose which macaw to raise: blue-and-yellow, scarlet or severe. Then you give him a name, and he's yours.

Growing day by day
Your macaw grows in real time: every day that goes by is a day for him too. The egg hatches after 25 days, about the same as in nature, and meanwhile the Journal tells you how the chick is developing. After hatching come the big moments: he opens his eyes, grows his first feathers, takes his first steps and finally makes his first flight. If you don't want to wait, you can use crystals to make time pass faster.
The Journal keeps photos of his best moments, from hatching to adulthood, along with pages on how a macaw lives and grows.

Feeding, bath time and cuddles
Keep an eye on five things: hunger, hygiene, fun, health and happiness.
You make his food yourself in the kitchen, following the recipe. When he's tiny he's fed with a syringe, then he moves on to purées, fruit, vegetables and seeds. The younger he is, the more often he gets hungry, just like real chicks.
Then there's his nest to clean and, once he's big enough, his shower. Careful: sometimes he wants to be washed right on his feet, his wings or his head. Now and then he also needs a cuddle, and that's what makes him happy.
If you leave him alone for too long, Animal Protection comes and takes him away. To get him back, you have to pay a fine.

Learning to talk
With training, your macaw learns to walk, to fly, to say hello and to give you a high five. When he's older he also learns to talk: you record a phrase into the microphone and he repeats it, even while he's wandering around the room. And if you say "High five!", he does it.

Minigames and leaderboards
Together you can play Memory, Shell Game, Free Flight, Egg Turn and other minigames. Each one also has a harder version with a leaderboard that resets every day: the top players win coins and crystals.
A room all his own
You decorate his room however you like: walls, floor, windows, plants and furniture.
The Birders is free on iOS and Android.
